Image
Competition is the jostle and juggle among firms for customers or buyers. However, it involved, not just other seller but other stakeholders, namely supplier of inputs, rivalry substitute products, new entrants and buyers them self. Competition forces you to give your best. Having that challenger right on your heels pushes you to run faster, work harder and think deeper. You can also learn plenty from the successes and failures of a worthy adversary. Plus, competition just makes the game more interesting and a whole lot more fun. Here are a few pointers: 1. Don’t be a copycat.  I started my printing company Triumphant Concept with the full knowledge that there were other more well-established competitors already in the field. Instead of jumping on whatever trend they were touting, I went down my own path.  2.Position strength to weakness Even if your competitors has a better product his willing to sell it at lower price, you can still win. 5 Golden laws of Blogging

Image
Blogging is fun most especially when you stay connected to your Niche. Corporation, Magazines, and individuals will reach out to you for your opinions or to hire you to write something for them when you yield to these immutable  laws of blogging. If you pay attention to these laws, you'll succeed over time. Ignore them, and you'll find it nearly impossible to drive any respectable amount of traffic and ultimately monetize your blog. 1. That happens by staying focused and on-topic. 2. Quality People think that blogging is about pushing out an enormous amount of content. But it doesn't work if it's thin content. Tips for creating a profitable startup for every entrepreneur.

Image
Brian Helmick: Tips for Creating a Profitable Startup If you’re not ready to be uncomfortable, you’re not ready to be an entrepreneur. One of the dilemmas for many would-be entrepreneurs who think they have found an iteration of the next big thing is deciding how many people to share the idea with and when. They fear that someone with more resources might steal the idea, or that their concept in its early stages might be viewed as naïve or duplicative by potential investors. But when Brian Helmick was trying to start a human resources platform for startups, the answer to that question was simple: Tell everybody and anybody. “There are so many situations where I looked back, and I said, [what] if I hadn’t had that conversation with that one random person that ended up, three or four steps later, leading to an introduction, a strategic partnership,” he says. Helmick sat down for an interview with Stanford Business to talk about what makes a successful entrepreneur. Altho...

HOW TO WRITE LETTERS ( VOLUME 1)

HOW TO WRITE LETTERS [1] CHAPTER I WHAT IS A LETTER? It is  not so long since most personal letters, after an extremely formal salutation, began "I take my pen in hand." We do not see that so much nowadays, but the spirit lingers. Pick up the average letter and you cannot fail to discover that the writer has grimly taken his pen in hand and, filled with one thought, has attacked the paper. That one thought is to get the thing over with. [2] And perhaps this attitude of getting the thing over with at all costs is not so bad after all. There are those who lament the passing of the ceremonious letter and others who regret that the "literary" letter—the kind of letter that can be published—is no longer with us. But the old letter of ceremony was not really more useful than a powdered wig, and as for the sort of letter that delights the heart and lightens the labor of the biographer—well, that is still being written by the kind of person who can write it. I...

Reps. Devin Nunes says Trump communication may have being Monitored.

Image
WASHINGTON (AP) — The chairman of the House intelligence committee says President Donald Trump's communications may have been "monitored" during the transition period as part of an "incidental collection." Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told a news conference Wednesday that the communications appear to be picked up through "incidental collection" and do not appear to be related to the ongoing FBI investigation into Trump associates' contacts with Russia. He says he believes the intelligence collections were done legally. Nunes says the communications of Trump associates were also picked up, but he did not name those associates. He says the monitoring mostly occurred in November, December and January. Nunes says he learned of the collection through "sources" but did not specify those sources.

President Buhari fired his army's bodyguard.

Image
The development followed a series of complaints by the Chief Security Officer, to the President, CSO Bashir Abubakar who was said to not have been comfortable with the soldiers protecting the president. It was gathered that the use of army officers as body guards to provide protection to the President started soon after President Buhari moved into his official residence at the presidential villa after being sworn in May 2015. But the development did not go down well with the DSS which maintained it was its duties to protect the president. It was further gathered there had been a running battle between the former Chief Security Officer (CSO) Abdulraman Mani and the Aide de Camp (ADC) to the President, Colonel Lawal Abubakar on which of the agencies would do the job. While Mani insisted on the operatives of DSS to protect the President, the ADC preferred soldiers to serve as body guards. The battle between the two aides led to the removal of the former CSO by President Buhari. Vangua...
