Causes, effects and control of indecent dressing in our society.
Indecent dressing is a social malady in the society today especially by the youths. It simply means deliberate exposure of one’s body to the public.
This is a deliberate exposure of once body which does not conform to the norms and values of the society, particularly the African society.
This practice is now so common in public places like in churches and offices. Indecent dressing is caused by common phrases which are the problems of our generation like; “Only God can judge me, you can’t”, “Leave them alone”,
This behaviour is of a hydra headed origin. It is not just a behaviour that developed overnight, but an accumulated behavioural pattern that could be attributed to the home due to neglect and/or poor parenting. The effects of globalization arising from wrong values of exportation and importation, reflection of high rate of moral decadence in the large society (corruption and the led), peer pressure and the desire to belong as well as fading values and demonic influence all contribute to the act of indecent dressing
Indecent dressing in our society is taken worrisome diamession in our street, films, be it electronic, print and social media etc as our Male and female now dressed exposing their sensitive part of their Body in public with different groups attributing different names to it's. Some called it fashion, civilization or modernization.
Ways to checkmates indecent dressing in our society.
1. Governments laws both in Federal, State, and Local government to regulates our dressing.
2. Our Religious institutions should strongly condemned it.
3. Parents should help checkmate their Ward's before leaving homes.
4. All learning institutions should have dressing code must especially higher institutions.
5. Their should be public enlightenment.
6. Civil society groups sensitization campaign.
In conclusion government, religious institutions, parents, schools, and every well meaning individuals should join in the fight against indecent dressing in order to achieved a better society devoid of sexual harassment and molestation.
